Dorset Lodge
Imagine a stylish mix of Georgian elegance, white washed wooden floors with bright fabrics, and you have this lovely party house, Dorset Lodge.
You can even pick up delicious goodies from the Estate’s home store, or enjoy a leisurely meal in the cafe.
Availability & Prices
Dorset Lodge was originally the gate house to a country estate in Dorset, it is now a large holiday house with plenty of room for groups of 16 friends and family to get together under one roof. Ideal for large group holidays in Dorset or a midweek get away.
Social spaces
Enter through the arched front door into the main lobby, from where you can access most of the ground floor rooms. The homely kitchen has an Aga set into a wonderful old inglenook and also has a conventional oven and hob, plenty of equipment and fridge space. The breakfast room leads off from the kitchen, making for sociable eating arrangements and there is also a separate, more formal dining room for a big group to enjoy dining together.
The sunny sitting room, with log fire and squishy sofas is perfect to kick back and relax, with views through the sash windows out to the gardens.
Bedrooms
There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor with en-suite shower room.
Climb the turned wooden staircase to the first floor and you’ll find five beautiful bedrooms. They all have antique furniture, sumptuous bedding and pretty soft furnishings. There are three double bedrooms (one with an en-suite shower room), two twin bedrooms and two separate bathrooms.
Climb the stairs again to the large second floor with a double bed and 2 singles, with en-suite bathroom. Perfect as a family suite (see the house floor plan here).
Fun Spaces
For the active and competitive, the games room is the place to be, especially in good weather, as it has large bi-fold doors opening out onto the back garden and Hot Tub, creating a great indoor and outdoor entertaining space, perhaps for BBQs in the summer months. Inside the games room you’ll find a 75″ TV with Netflix, Apple movies (complementary, up to £20), XBox with games and table football – what more could you want for a fun-filled stay?
Garden and hot tub
Guests can enjoy the sunny garden of this big house for relaxing, playing, light lunches outside and casual drinks before dinner and don’t forget the hot tub – a perfect, sheltered spot, beside the games room.

You are on the Jurassic coast so plenty of seaside fun too!
The History
The Estate dates as far back as the 8th Century and became a Deanery in the 11th Century. During the Dissolution of the Chantries in 1548, Edward VI gifted the estate to ancestors of the current owners and it has stayed in the family ever since.
