Things to do whilst staying at Berry House

As well as the beautiful north Devon beaches, activities include surfing, coasteering, fishing and golf.

Take a scenic cycle along the Tarka Trail, an easy ride for all abilities, with a great tea/ice cream shop along the way.

Exciting family days out include The Big Sheep, Crealy and The Milky Way and for the more sedate there are also places of interest such as Hartland Abbey or the fascinating village of Clovelly.

The fascinating Island of Lundy makes a great day trip, famous for Puffins and Deer as well as many Historic Monuments.

Social spaces

The spacious, flagstone kitchen means no one has an excuse to sidestep the cooking!  Just beyond it, the bright, cheerful breakfast area is the perfect spot to start your day. Open up the french windows to the walled terrace and enjoy some outdoor dining under sunny skies.

The dining room is wood panelled and grand – a perfect setting for a Gatsby style dinner party. Low lighting and delicious food, a night to remember.

Bedrooms

There’s no short straw with any of these bedrooms. We vote for the cosy attics, but perhaps you prefer the elegant first floor rooms in pastel shades and plenty of original features. 2 ground floor bedrooms give you adaptability too, if stairs are a problem.

In total there are 10 bedrooms, four of which have an additional single ‘daybed’. There are 8 bathrooms (5 bath /3 shower), four of which are en-suite.

Leading off the flagstone hallway. The sitting room has comfy sofas around the fire – imagine chatting over coffee with your besties, with sunlight streaming through the elegant sash windows.

Upstairs there’s a games room with a football table and pool table for some friendly, or not so friendly competition. If you need to unwind afterwards, pop through the archway to some comfy sofas and the large screen.

Hot tub and gardens

The views from the property are delightful and there are garden spaces to sit and enjoy the sunset, or even better enjoy from the hot tub. Outside the kitchen there are chunky slate tables and benches for dining. Please note that the games barn (seen in the video at about 2 minutes in, is no longer available).

  • The games barn (seen in the video at about 2 minutes in, is no longer available).Arrivals from 4pm/Arrival from 4pm. Departure by 10am (Monday to Friday). Sunday 4pm.
  • Mature hen & stag groups, please enquire before booking.
  • There is no EV charging available at the house
  • Up to 2 dogs are welcome by prior arrangement £15 per dog, per night). Rules apply.
  • The refundable cautionary deposit if £1,000. Refunded once the house is cleaned.
  • We recommend taking out your own personal travel insurance prior to booking.
